Do you want to find ways to better identify when someone is struggling and how to get help?
Become certified in Mental Health First Aid and learn skills, resources and knowledge to help an individual in crisis connect with appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care!
Mental Health First Aid is an interactive eight hour course that presents an overview of mental illness and substance use disorders in the U.S. and introduces participants to risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems, builds understanding of their impact, and overviews common treatments.
The curriculum includes access to a two hour self-paced course, and a six hour live, interactive virtual session led by certified Mental Health First Aid Instructors. You can expect to receive communications about the two hour self-paced course approximately 2 weeks before the course start date.
To attend a class you must:
• Complete the self-paced course prior to the scheduled virtual class
• Have access to a webcam and microphone on your device
• A valid email address in order to receive materials and log in
This course is designed for anyone who would like to make their community a healthier, happier and safer place for all. Mental Health First Aid is for everyone—from neighbors, parents, friends, veterans, first responders, people in recovery, and community leaders.
Please note, when you register, you will be charged a refundable deposit of $15 that will be returned upon your completion of the course. If you cancel less that one week ahead of the class date, or do not complete the course requirements, your deposit will be retained. This allows us to cover costs of materials and other resources to make these trainings possible. If the deposit is a barrier for attendance, please contact Rebecca Mitchell at [email protected] to make other arrangements.
Class registration closes on 12/6/2023, so sign up now!
